January Update

January was a very busy month... at least for me. I had two work trips and one vacation trip so that took about 1/2 of the weekdays of the month already. I like getting to visit new places, but it always makes me miss home even more. Here is a recap of what January looked like for us:

We had a "see you later" dinner for our sweet friend Kori who moved to Austin. We miss her already!

I hate that this was the first time ALL school year that I was able to actually have lunch with my niece and nephew. It was a lot easier when Jay was just in school because I was only there for 30 minutes, and it was also when my office was right down the street. I'm finding it more difficult now to have lunch with both of them on the same day since I am working from home, but I'm going to try to do it once a month. I just love these kids so much! (Not that you don't know that already.)

Speaking of my niece and nephew, we had them over quite a bit this month and did some fun stuff! Making pink pancakes, going to Jumpstreet for the first time and, of course, back to Skatetown.

In the very rare times I was out of a hotel room or business meeting, here are some work travel pics:

Someone had their 1st birthday. I can't believe Zaria is already 1!

Our monthly date night with The Andersons was so fun! We went to the Mavs and Thunder game.... One guess who we were rooting for :) We love our time with them!

Heath and I also went on our first Young Life leader retreat. We have loved getting to know these friends. Most of them are also in our community group through church, but we are thankful they have introduced us to this ministry where we are finding different ways to serve! We spent some time at Possum Kingdom Lake.

And last but not least, I took some vacation days to go visit my bestie in Phoenix! We had such a fun time just relaxing. It's never a catch up time for us because we basically talk every day, but really a time to just be together and do all the fun bestie stuff.... like get pedicures, drink wine and hike mountains :) We try to see each other quarterly if we can and around birthdays. Can't wait for our next visit.

I am almost certain February is going to fly by just as fast as January did. These photos always remind me of the blessed life we get to live! Stay tuned to see what we are up to in February in the next monthly update. Hope you all are having a great week!!
