Heath and I had such a great time hanging out with our niece and nephew yesterday. Holidays are so much more fun when there are young ones around. They get excited about everything!
We decorated the pumpkins we got at the pumpkin patch. Instead of the typical carving, I wanted to use paint and glitter. The idea of pumpkin guts, seeds and sticky hands is too messy for me. And quite frankly, I didn't want to have to spend too much time carving. Jay and Nevaeh loved the paint and glitter. Nevaeh kept calling hers the "baby pumpkin".
After pumpkin time, they were too excited about simply placing cookie dough on the cookie sheets. I got them special Monsters University cookies so they loved that. It made 24 cookies, and there was none leftover this morning.
This was my first time in charge of face paint, and it was really fun.... Until it was time to splatter the fake blood on Jay. I seriously scared myself putting it on. I couldn't handle it. Jay was really happy that he looked scary and made sure I took a lot of pictures of him.
Although Heath and I were going to go as a nerd couple, he decided last minute to change it to a rapper. My dad had a long, gold chain that went perfect with his costume. We went to Compass Church's Fall Festival, and it didn't disappoint. All the rides, games and candy were free! The kids loved it. We will definitely be taking them back there next year. We thank God for family memories such as these.
I hope everyone had a fun Halloween. Heath and I are looking forward to the Oklahoma weekend trip. TGIF!
