My Current Things

Hi everyone!  A lot of fun stuff has been going on in the McKay life, most recently sharing Memorial Day Weekend with some of our closest and dearest friends.  I wish we all lived in the same city so I can see them more often, but it makes for even better times when we get to see each other.  I'm still going crazy over grocery store deals and we've yet to cook the four things of pork tenderloin we got on sale a couple of weeks ago.  Let's just say we aren't going to the grocery store for awhile.  Before I post the typical life-in-action pictures, I thought I'd try something new.  I got this from "Just Julie's" blog, and thought it was a fun idea!
  • Making: myself post a blog so I don't go too long between posts.
  • Cooking: new and healthy dishes.  My current favorite is turkey meatballs over zoodles.
  • Drinking: wine.  It's always wine.
  • Reading: nothing as of right now.  I just ordered Sacred Marriage and Unglued, and I can't wait for them to come in so I can read them.
  • Wanting: pizza!!  Heath and I decided to use our free pizza coupon I won at Main St. Days for dinner tonight :)
  • Looking: for a new car.  Loving the Kia Optimas right now.
  • Playing: phone tag with some best friends.
  • Wasting: money.  Where does it all go?!
  • Wishing: that I enjoyed and/or had the motivation to work out and/or run.
  • Enjoying: Friday, and can't wait for the weekend.  As always.
  • Waiting: for the pizza delivery.
  • Liking: McCafe iced coffees.  I've had several just within the last week.  And smoked gouda cheese.  It's my current obsession after I had it for the first time last week.  Also, fresh flowers.
  • Wondering: where Heath and I are going to choose to go to for our anniversary trip.
  • Loving: how content I am in this time in my life.
  • Hoping: that Heath finds a job that will make him happy.
  • Marveling: at how great marriage is.
  • Needing: to work out and/or run.
  • Smelling: wine.
  • Wearing: comfy shorts and t-shirt.
  • Following: our weekly meal plans on the fridge.  Great accountability!
  • Noticing: that I need to dust.
  • Knowing: I'm happier with growing age.
  • Thinking: how crazy it is that my little brother is graduating high school tomorrow.  Also, about pizza.
  • Bookmarking: news articles about patient experience (for work).
  • Opening: birthday cards.  I received so many last week and felt so special.
  • Giggling: when Heath purposely calls me gross pet names because he knows I don't like them.
  • Feeling: cold.  I'm always cold.

Made some kebabs for dinner one night
Main St. Days is an annual festival in Grapevine.  Luckily we live right next to the free shuttle spot, so we parked and got a ride there.  This helped us avoid the parking fees and crowds!

We got there pretty early to avoid the crowds.  This is where they were preparing for a grill cook off.
The entrance into the kids section with tons of rides and carnival games.
Heath got a free nerve exam and we ended up purchasing an initial exam.  Gotta make sure his body is right!
I loved the fresh cut potato chips!  Literally saw them make these before my eyes in less than five minutes.
Headed to my birthday dinner - XOXO!
Complimentary appetizer sampler of their two popular appetizers just because it was our first time.  Tenderloin crostini and ahi tuna nachos.
Steak and Cake!  Filet mignon topped with a crab cake.  So so so good.
I got The Oscar - tilapia topped with a crab cake.  Such a large serving that it was leftovers the next day.
My hot date ;)
Sweet Jay's second grade award ceremony
Got a reading medal!
#ReunionWeekend started with Amy!  We had a fun day of going to the Dillard's Outlet and then I took her to my favorite local wine tasting place in Grapevine.
Went to Palio's Pizza for the first time and it was amazing!!  Loved the BYOB.  Then we went to Top Golf to end the night :)

Our friends came in town for a cookout!  Thanks to my parents for letting us use their pool and house.  Empty nesting has its perks sometimes.
Our cook for the day!

Baja Grill
Had to take them to Big Fish on Main St. - Love Eman!

Still getting birthday treats :)  Thanks Jennifer, Tim, Molly and Annie for the package!
Ended Galatians study with a game night and potluck.  The wives beat the husbands of course!  Loved getting to know these girls the last few months, and looking forward to getting to know them more this summer.  We are splitting up and doing a women's bible study by Jen Hatmaker.

As mentioned above, I can't believe my little brother graduates high school tomorrow.  Where has the time gone?  Luckily, I still feel (and look) young and that's all that matters :)  Looking forward to going to Oklahoma soon for another trip - possibly for Heath's birthday/Father's Day.  We live such blessed lives, and I cannot be more thankful for what God has given us.

Until next time,
