Hello May

It's been almost a month since a post, which goes to show you that we are STILL so busy.  It's now May, my favorite month, and Heath and I've proposed for us to relax more this month.  No really, we are going to try our best.  I've got to learn that it's okay to say "no" to plans because I find myself being so exhausted during the week because I've been running around all weekend.  This was our first weekend of having NO plans whatsoever, and it's been amazing.

I've been into flowers lately… the fresh kind.  I wish I knew the names of the ones I liked so I know what to buy, but I'm starting off slow.  Our cousin Kylie recently just got married and her wedding planners were giving away the table bouquets.  Clearly I took one, and it's been looking real pretty on our coffee table.  Hopefully I can find some down time to start planting my own flowers on our patio.  I definitely don't have a green thumb.  I also thought that about cooking, but with Pinterest help and a few years later, the kitchen is my castle.

Heath's picked up a part-time job at Hertz, although it feels pretty full-time lately.  I wish I could say he enjoys it, but I think he's learning that he's really good with building relationships with his customers.  It gives him a lot of ownership because he rarely has to "report" to anyone and becomes his own manager somewhat.  Some days are busier than others, but I'm glad he's found something to do in his spare time while trying to train youth as well as training himself with basketball.  He's still planning on going to Spain for that basketball camp by the end of the year, so he's working towards that too.  Whatever makes him happy makes me happy :)

Since we've left off, I had an opportunity to go visit one of my best friends in Austin, visited Jay for his Field Day, tried my best at pork tenderloin for Easter lunch, went to Oklahoma City to see friends and family, saw our cousin Kylie get married at a beautiful venue near Tulsa, caught up with two of my best friends back in Grapevine and had the first lay out by our apartment pool.  See pictures below!
Breakfast at a popular spot in Austin
Love Amy & Gabby!
Glenda & Kyle got us some yummy popcorn for Easter! Look at that little devil at the bottom :)
Watching some cartoons… Aren't they the cutest?
They spent the night the Friday of Easter weekend, and woke up to a surprise Saturday morning :)
Nevaeh's really into the princess stage, so of course we got her a tiara and wand (that she did not ever want to take off!)
Jay's really into this rubber band thing and he made me this ring with a set we put in his Easter basket. I was fascinated!
Saw some friends in OKC
Went to Red Pin for Ashley's birthday
Almost wedding time in Tulsa
Mr. and Mrs. Boaz!
My SIL - guest book girls
We are so excited for them.  It was the perfect day.
Nelly was in town for work so of course we met up for Mexican food
Jay turned 9 - my big boy!
Learning to relax… First up, the pool

Heath is getting Saturdays off now, so we enjoyed spending time together yesterday.  We splurged on breakfast and made biscuits, gravy and bacon.  I may or may not have had five pieces.  We also got some more stuff for our apartment, and I'm excited to keep decorating.  Unfortunately having Saturdays off means he works Sundays, but he gets off in time for us to go to the last service time at church.  We are thankful Compass has a 5 PM service.

Looking forward to this May - birthdays, weddings, graduations, Mother's Day and Memorial Day Weekend :)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Until next time,
