A Week of New Things

We love trying new things. I'm not one for change, if any, but Heath loved the little bit of color in my hair last summer so I made an appointment to get balayage (still don't know how to pronounce this) highlights all over my hair. I made this appointment a few months back to give me time to really think about if I wanted to go through with it or not. My hair is just so regular, jet black and swipe long bangs. I figured with 27 nearing this week, I might as well go for some change! Most importantly, Heath loves it so that's all that matters. Well, I love it too :)

It was a 4 hour session. Lina Morales is so patient and sweet. Everyone should go to her for some color! She is in NRH.
You couldn't tell the difference inside and it was nearing 930 PM outside so no light for a good picture.
And here it is in natural light! I still can't believe I went through with it, but glad I did.
We also LOVE trying new restaurants. One of my co-workers posted a picture of her brunch one day and I immediately put it on my list of "must try" places: Public School 214. One of our couple friends met us in Dallas and we had the ultimate Sunday Funday. Thankful for Kameron & Shari! The menus were black/white composition notebooks, scantrons and their paper napkins looked like lined notebook paper. We all really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food.
Bacon and cheddar tots & crispy buffalo cauliflower
Margarita pizza, two chicken and waffles with a fried egg and a smothered breakfast burrito
Nutella cookie sandwich. The guys said they could've done without the bacon.
Walking around West Village area

Speaking of new, I went to my first New Kids on the Block concert with Dakota. Although I knew zero songs and none sounded familiar (although everyone said I would recognize some), it's always fun hanging out with her and I got to see Nelly and TLC open the show. Now I DEF know who those people are... It's getting hot in hereeeeee, Don't go chasing waterfalls....

I also tried a new greek chicken pita recipe last week, and it was really good! You can find the recipe here. My thing with new recipes is to follow it exactly before I mix it up the second time around. Looking forward to playing around with some of these ingredients to enhance some different flavors.
Hung out with this baby girl and her momma on Saturday! They grow so fast.
Also celebrated Bethany's graduation from PT school with sweet friends
Anyways, we are yet again headed to Oklahoma this week to celebrate a special girl graduating from high school! Heath and his little sister Annie are very close and I love her just as much. I can't believe I knew her when she was barely 14. I also am turning another year older, but I only feel like I'm getting younger ;)

Until next time,
