April Update

I hinted at some big changes coming in April... and here we are! Heath and I are now first time homeowners (or first time homebuyers? same difference!) and could not be more thankful for this blessing. We have been in a small apartment for the last two years that has been manageable, but now we are so excited to host more of our friends and family in our new home. We have been in the house for a little over a week now, but we've already hosted a Mother's Day lunch and had our first overnight guests!

The day the seller accepted our offer mid-March (this bush is gone now thankfully)
The day we signed closing papers and got keys to the crib!
April really did fly by and I have to remember what we did in pictures (as always). On April 1st, we had our first Wyldlife kickoff event at Jumpstreet and it was so fun hanging out with the middle school students. There were a lot more kids there than we thought there would be, which was GREAT! It really was my first interaction with some of these middle school friends I hope to be an impact to throughout Wyldlife. Heath is a kid at heart so he had a lot of fun jumping and being WYLD too :) We also had our first Wyldlife club EVER two weeks after and Heath gave the club talk. I just love him.

For our monthly date with the Andersons, we took a day trip to Canton. It was our first time so I'm glad we got to go with some pros!

We also went to our first Rangers game of the year. Food is the way to my heart and I had the most amazing nachos. Hoping to catch some dollar dog nights this summer!

We had a Rooted service project in downtown Fort Worth so it was fun hanging out with the kids at the literacy carnival. We ended the Rooted program with a great celebration that brought nothing but happy tears (a  lot of them). We enjoyed Rooted and are both excited to get back with our community group in the fall.

I was busy with my job's annual conference..... but our team managed to take a silly picture :)
Heath sent flowers to my hotel room. It made my night!
We celebrated Jay turning 11 with a weekend getaway at Great Wolf Lodge. Yes - 11. SO BIG RIGHT NOW. They had so much fun!

We hung out at Young Life's annual Crawfish Boil. I can't believe this was our third one. This was the first YL event we went to in 2014 and have been reeled in ever since :)

Last but not least, I had a fun girls night out with Ashley and Cortny (and Z!) celebrating Ashley's birthday. I also got to see Dakota and her cute baby belly during some baby shower planning. Thankful for these sweet friends.

So that's that for an April update! I wanted to share a photo of Heath's new number sign for our house. He stained some wood, drilled in some letters and put it on the brick. Now it's time to find something to hang on the door :)

Until next time,
