June Update

I made it to an update post with only 1 day to spare. Nothing like waiting completely last minute to try to write about/remember what you did more than a month ago :) Luckily, our life is documented well in pictures!

We celebrated my grandma's 85th birthday..... eating food and cake, of course.

Heath and I also took an entire weekend to ourselves. A family girls trip had to be rescheduled last minute so it opened up a whole weekend of NOTHING. Immediately I'm thinking of all the things I could plan with our friends for the weekend, but then I realized that this was a blessing in disguise. We had been so busy with the house lately and hosting friends/family about every weekend or so. This was a great time for us to enjoy being with each other with no definite plans. We watched a lot of Netflix, did some unnecessary shopping, watched some live music and enjoyed our pool for the first time.

So clearly, the week after was filled with lots of fun things with our friends! We had a few friends over for a Game 4 watch party of the NBA finals, had our niece and nephew over the for the first time in the new house, went to the lake, went to a friend's wedding and celebrated my sweet friend Claire (considering these posts are a month after and this one is way behind - Bryce Andrew joined us a few weeks after and is the cutest thing!).
We didn't take a couple photo, but the lake was part of #andersonmckaymonthlydatenight :)
My college friend Sam came to see us for a night :)

We also celebrated Heath's birthday this month! Straying away from our "let's go to Kenny's to celebrate everything," we decided to stay close to town and tried out a new place in Southlake. Heath comes from a family full of celebration because when we all got together for Father's Day in Oklahoma, we also celebrated April to June birthdays. Tayte made everyone a special cake!

Towards the end of the month, my best friend Nelly flew in from Phoenix for a bestie weekend. I'm thankful that we get to do this a few times a year and I'm looking forward to seeing her soon this fall.
Drybar!

And last but not least, our community group did a summer service project at The Gatehouse Keeps Boutique. We had a great time serving the community with them. Heath also started his summer basketball league again while I started summer bible study. Currently, the study is over but it's not a July update yet so I will tell you more next  month.

I'm hoping to put together a house update for the blog soon. Heath has been working very hard on building the deck for the backyard and we are about to start painting inside the house. More to come!

Until next time,
