September Update

Where has the year gone?! Apparently we are in another season called fall (well only for the last few days here in Texas) and I'm still missing summer. The great thing is it's coming back this weekend. Did I mention how much I love living in Texas? I get it. I know you love fall and the pumpkins and the pumpkin spice lattes and the cinnamon apple candles and the scarves and the flannel and the boots. Trust me - I love all of that stuff too. I just prefer summer :)

Some highlights from September:
  • My best friend came to visit over Labor Day Weekend and *bonus*, I met her boyfriend for the first time. It was such a fun weekend of less planned things. Odd, I know. I really wanted to just spend time with Nelly and Jeremiah rather than planning a bunch of things for us to do, even if it met going to World Market and Target just because.
  • Not only did we have our WyldLife Kickoff for the year at Jumpstreet (really popular place for middle school students for some reason), but we had our FIRST CLUB OF THE YEAR! You guys... if you have never experienced WydlLife Club, then you need to text me now and make plans to come. It is the most glorious and rewarding organized chaos that I am beyond privileged to be a part of. You'd think I was a different person leading mixers up front. I'm totally out of my element and I love every second of it. May God continue to stir in all of our hearts a desire to find ways to meet these middle school kids where they're at.
  • Community Group started!! We are doing something a little different this semester splitting up the guys and the girls, but it's been great. I can only attest to the experience I've had co-leading the girls, but I've loved getting to know a little bit more about each person in community group. It's amazing to me to know we are all the same in Christ yet so different in other ways and I love that about our group. If you don't know what community group is, then ask me.... and I'll invite you to about everything we are doing :)
  • We had a few friends gatherings and time with family, which is always good for the soul.
  • We also spent a weekend in San Francisco! I had a work trip during the week and Heath met me out there for the weekend. I was born in the area and actually lived in the Bay Area before we moved to Texas when I was 10. It's much different now that I'm almost 30 (yikes!), but it's still so fun to see new places from Heath's perspective. He traveled a lot for basketball trips throughout his life and not so much for leisure so it's fun to take trips with him to new places. Believe it or not, I didn't plan ONE thing in advance other than meeting up with one an old and forever friend. I asked Heath what he wanted to do and what stores he wanted to visit (he is a shopper y'all!) and I just went with it day by day. I even took a random nap during the day while Heath went shopping downtown because I didn't feel like walking anymore LOL
And here go the pictures...

A lot of levels of Nike... I couldn't find Heath for awhile.
We didn't get tickets to this, but I've read a lot about it.

I wasn't walking any farther.
Palace of Fine Arts
My favorite day - a walk to Chinatown and a banh mi and Vietnamese coffee for breakfast!
Heath wanted to come back and have a sandwich for a snack on the way back LOL I love that I married someone who is willing to try anything even when I can't really tell him what all is in the food. (Pate???? But it tastes good....)
It was their Moon Festival this weekend. Lots of vendors on the street.
Riding bikes to Pier 39.
I love clam chowder.
Then we finally got to meet up with Tonya!!!
And she introduced Heath to Brooklyn Circus - which I can't decide if it's a good thing yet :)

Cha Cha Cha's - We had to take Heath here for the sangria and also because I needed all the tapas.
Then of course, we also went to a popular taqueria right after LOL
And just to remind everyone that I really did ride a bike.... for a long time :)

I hope you all have had a wonderful week!! Catch you back here next month.

Until next time,
