January Update

First post of the year! Looks like I never got to the 2017 Year in Review - oops. I got some flu symptoms, a sinus infection, etc. all the bad winter stuff you don't want to get during the holidays. It was also my first time being sick when pregnant so I learned a lot about things I COULDN'T take. Luckily, my friend told me about something called Medicine Ball from Starbucks. It was the silver lining to all the sickness because I would've never tried it otherwise. Anything with hot tea is a no for me, but this one is SO GOOD.

January didn't seem to fly by as fast as other months, but I also think it's the calm before the storm. It's the month after Christmas so things are dying down, but the month before it starts getting warm and there's more fun things to do and plan outside. (Professionally, we're also a little over two months from my work's annual conference - the busiest time of the year!)

Heath and I have enjoyed weekends of unplanned plans.... you know, the kind where you "plan" to go to Nordstorm Rack, Lowe's and World Market without actual plans of when you're going. Heath will always tell you those are the best kind of weekends. I'm starting to enjoy them more :)

I thought I'd also share pregnancy updates in my blog posts as a way for me to remember them, too. I'm 18 weeks now and we have our anatomy scan next week. At this appointment, we'll also find out if Baby McKay is a boy or a girl! I can't believe we are almost at the halfway mark. They say second trimester is the best and it has been so far since I have more energy and can finally eat the things I cook. I'm still trying to learn how to wear leggings without looking like a bum all the time, but I know it's not too far off until I need to get a pair of maternity jeans. Heath and I have started praying every night for our sweet baby boy or girl and it's starting to become more real every day! We plan to register for some showers in the next few weeks soooooooo basically that means pray for us.

Here are some random pics from the month. We kicked off the year with a trip to Florida for my bestie's wedding! She looked so beautiful and I'm so glad we were there to celebrate her special day.

I'm sure after July, you'll also be seeing pictures of our sleeping baby. But for now, here's our first child LOL

I'm going to Austin this weekend for the IF: Gathering so I'm already looking forward to Friday! I'm in Chicago right now (and it's cold and snowing) for a quick overnight work trip so I'm hoping the weather is in my favor later on in the week :)
