September Update

I was so early on my August update that it feels like it's been so long! My camera roll has more and more pictures of Kennedy doing absolutely nothing but staring, sleeping, smiling, yawning, lying down, etc. I thought I liked taking pictures before, but now it's onto a whole new level :)
  • We kicked off September with the annual Bollenbach Shrimp Boil. If you've been following along this blog, you know this typically happens over Fourth of July weekend but someone was originally due July 8th (our K Rae!) so the next best weekend for all of the family was over Labor Day. This is one of my favorite days of the whole year. The T-Shirts make it even more extra and over the top and I LOVE IT.
  • Heath's mom and sister came in town so we could take a floral arrangement class in Dallas. It was so fun! Glenda's cousin lives in Mansfield and her daughter is a wedding planner so she knew the perfect person (with the cutest studio) for us to take the private class.
  • One of Heath's best friends got married this month too! I actually knew Eman before I knew Heath so it's funny how things just come together. We are all really close and we are so happy to see him so happy!
  • The perks of your bestie's travel trips is that when she is near you, she comes in town for a quick overnight trip. I was so excited Nelly was able to come and meet Kennedy! The three-hour brunch wasn't too bad either :)
  • I also started work full-time this month and Kennedy has been at the school district's Early Childhood Development Center. We found our groove this month as a family for sure!
  • Our sweet girl also turned THREE MONTHS!!! This is a milestone in so many ways because now we are physically back to going to church since she is old enough to stay in the nursery LOL... We tried it once before she could go to the nursery and we never wanted to do it again (blow out, had to feed her before we left, crying after worship, etc.)
  • We had our first overnight from Kennedy although she was only 10 minutes away with her Gigi and Aunt Annie :)
  • This goes onto my learning of the month that now I need to pad 10-15 mins to everything I commit to being at. I feel like I've been late to everything lately and IT'S NOT MY FAULT. This cute, sassy, three-month-old girl runs my world and schedule and poops and spits up whenever she wants to. I'm definitely not using her as an excuse, but my mom friends, I totally get it now and I'm sorry for all the times I didn't understand.
  • We also took our annual family photos, previously known as anniversary photos pre-baby, and I can't wait to see how they turned out. Kennedy was hardly smiling, but she also wasn't crying or being overly fussy so I guess I will take what I can get. We love working with Breanna from Living Roots! She is the most patient ever and she loves Chief. So of course, I love her.
One of our sneak peeks. We took them at home again too!
Our trip for the Shrimp Boil was also our little family's first overnight trip together. She did great!
Great grandparents and their great grands.
Grandpa also turned 77!
Now that she is up pretty early during the week so Heath can take her to daycare before he goes to school, we always have some kind of photoshoot. She is VERY smiley in the mornings!
Then sometimes she's not....

3 months also marked her being able to wear her new overnight sleep suit. She loves it, I swear!
She also wore shoes for the first time. Baby sizing is so odd. These are a 1 and they fit OK. She has other pairs of 1 sizes and they're huge on her. I don't get it! These are the only ones that fit her right now so she wears them with everything.
It's not a visit to Texas without our traditional trip to Gloria's.
The cutest!
Chiefy also got groomed and ready for family pics.

Love this girl. Tried Cinnaholic for the first time. Sugar attack!
Happy birthday to Wyatt!!! Best dinosaur party ever.
Honestly don't know what I'd do without these sweet friends. The first weeks of motherhood would not have been the same without them.

Looking forward to October and annual traditions like the church Fall Carnival, pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving/painting, etc.  I'm also making Kennedy's costume this year (yes, MAKING, not a typo, I can't believe it myself) so please pray for me. And for Heath. I think he's heard me say every week for the last three weeks 'I really need to make her costume' to which he just simply replies 'Well, just make it.' Gosh, I love that man.

Until next time,
