We didn't have much going on this month. We were savoring the last days of summer together before Heath had to go back to work and school started. It was a sweet month of finding our groove and loving on our sweet girl!
- If you missed our five year alphabet anniversary recap, you can read that here.
- My niece turned 8 so we celebrated over sushi. They really do grow up so fast. She LOVES Kennedy and I love watching her take care of her.
- Jay and Nevaeh spent some time with us for a few days before they went back to school. It was their first time to stay with us ALL summer, which is so crazy since they practically lived with us last summer when Jay was in summer school. We love these kids!
- We took our first road trip with Kennedy to the annual Watermelon Festival in Rush Springs, Oklahoma. It was about a 3-hour drive and she did really good! We loved being with family.
- We had lots of individual friend time this month too. Girls nights and guys nights are good for the soul... especially as new parents! I didn't get pictures from Heath's guys weekend, but some of his college teammates came to visit and they had a night out on the town.
- We went to church for the first time since we brought Kennedy home. What an experience! We were there for a total of two hours.... y'all TWO!!!! I got times mixed up and we ended up having to feed her at church towards the end of service so it added extra time. We also had a hard time finding a changing table in the men's bathroom for Heath to change her BLOW OUT diaper (he is often on diaper duty). We will be better prepared next time :)
- Kennedy is now two months and is all smiles for us. It's the sweetest thing. She has started cooing and I can't wait for all the baby talk/noise. She isn't sleeping through the night yet, but only wakes up once. Since I go back to work next week, we started her at daycare for a few hours this week to make for an easier transition. I did not cry, and she had a great time! I can't wait to see how much she grows and feel so lucky to have her at the school district's ECDC.
And some pictures, of course....

 |
| Just a sweet sleeping swaddle baby |
I ask for your prayers as I transition back to work next week. We made the decision to have Kennedy in daycare full time although I'm still working from home. We are confident this is the best decision for all of us as I can fully commit to work while 'at work' and she gets 100% attention at the ECDC! And if Chief could talk, I'm sure he would say he is ready to get some of my attention back too - haha.
We love you guys and are so thankful for your support and following along on our blogging journey :) I can't believe we've had this blog for five years now.
Until next time,
You're going to do great next week! Love the updates and you
