The FIBA Asia Cup is a great opportunity for Heath to showcase his talents to the other teams competing in the tournament. As an overseas basketball player, they are constantly trying to bring their best in tournaments in hopes they will be picked up by another team for the next basketball season.
Luckily, this tournament has "live statistics" that allow us to see play by play of the games. The teams are currently in the Preliminary Rounds to see what seed they get for the Final Rounds. BK Kapshagay is 1-1, and plays again tomorrow at 6 PM (10 AM central time). You can go to the website, and find live stats under the "Schedule" tab, or in the orange-bordered box on the top right. To preview play by plays of the game, change your settings under "Game Menu" once you've clicked into live stats. In addition, you can find more information on the teams by visiting the "Teams" tab. (You can check out Heath's team picture too!)
Please say a prayer for Heath to stay strong and healthy on and off the court. It's so easy for athletes to get injured, and I only pray for God to protect him.
“All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.” -1 Corinthians 9:25-27 (NLT)
