Friends & Family

We have a wonderful support system - the constant love from our blended families, the fun of our great friends and the unfailing love from the Man upstairs.  No matter what Heath and I are going through, we are constantly reminded of the people in our lives who are true BLESSINGS - each and every one.  To all of our sweet friends and family, we are thankful for you.  Yes, you.

I haven't gotten around to doing what I told you I would do in my last post - oops!  This isn't a post about our thoughts on meal planning, or one filled with pictures of our new apartment.  My heart is so full from the love we have in our lives that I wanted to write about what we've done with our amazing friends and family this last week.

My mom's birthday was last week, so it was appropriate to celebrate with a cake from her favorite French bakery and some pretty flowers.  She is the hardest working woman I know, and she definitely has passed that on to her kids.  Love you, Mom!

We've finished the Galatians study within our community group, so we've been doing some celebrating lately!  Most recently, we celebrated Claire and Kyle with a Gender Reveal Party.  It was my first one to go to, so it was very fun and the decorations were too cute.  Congratulations on a baby girl!  For the record, I was Team Girl the whole time :)

I've been promoting this Hog Jog 5K for over a month now and got many of our friends to sign up with us.  Our cousin Tayte was in charge of a portion of her high school's annual fundraiser, so I wanted to make sure I could do what I could to help!  Swine Week is raising money for City Rescue Mission this year, which you can read about here.

The run was an event that was part of Swine Week, and, of COURSE out of all days for it to be cold and dreary, it was just that for the morning of the run.  I don't blame some of our friends for not actually making it to the run due to the weather or other things, but we are so thankful that they registered regardless because it still helped Tayte raise some money for her Swine Week goal.

I'm not a runner by any means and had no "training" whatsoever for this run, but I'm glad I did it anyway - even if I was walking the majority of the time :)

So that leaves me sitting in my hotel room in Orlando, Florida now!  I did the Hog Jog yesterday morning, and caught a late afternoon flight out to Orlando.  I have a conference that starts after lunch, so I'm excited to see what it's all about!  Not to mention... to my surprise, I'm staying in a resort hotel so I'm looking forward to exploring all the amenities.  I'm also looking forward to getting some sun while I'm here.  I packed a bikini - can you believe it?!  Now, which pool to choose from....

Can't wait to share pictures in my next post!

Until next time,
