It's not often that we have the weekends to ourselves. We've either had our niece, nephew and out-of-town friends over or we're the ones going out of town. With that being said, we try our best to utilize the alone time that we DO have - when we're both not working, I'm not cooking and he's not at the gym. We love date nights, but are completely okay with it not being extravagant with a $100 dinner bill and $10 movie tickets (and that doesn't include the $5 kids pack I get either). Don't get me wrong; we definitely still enjoy the "going out" date nights, but there's just something about eating pizza on a blanket in the middle of the living room floor that is just as romantic :)
We've been having "picnic" date nights for the past two weeks. Typically it's on a day that's a cheat meal so I don't have to do much cooking (sometimes healthier takes more effort!) AND we get to have dessert. And no, not like nonfat Greek yogurt and fruit dessert, but more so like Pillsbury cinnamon rolls dessert. If we're going to cheat, you better believe we're going to REALLY cheat. We also force ourselves to watch a movie off of Netflix, something we pay $8 a month for but rarely ever use. These home date nights couldn't get any cheaper. And we love it.
We also filled out what we thought of each other using the letter in our names. I'm sure there is an official word out there for this process…. P.S. The word "tender" doesn't seem so great, but Heath told me he looked up the synonym for "caring" and that was the best word that started with a T :)
Until next time,
