As time has caught up on me (yet again), I will be doing a series of updates this week on the blog. They're more for me than for you as I use this blog as a memory journal, but you'll also get to see what we've been up to! First up... Our "B" anniversary.
Let's see how many Bs we got for this second anniversary:
Bikes - Heath has been wanting to rent bikes and ride around town since we visited Nashville back in May. We did try it out in Nashville for a little bit. By a little bit, I mean Heath got up this big hill really fast and I could barely walk the bike up there so I gave up from defeat. We drove out to Fort Worth early Saturday morning to beat the heat and rented from B cycle. These bikes aren't made for racing or anything; they're commuter bikes or short ride bikes considering the 30-minute limit per ride. Little did we know, everyone else who actually owned a legit bike was training at Trinity River that morning so it put our commuter bike with cute little baskets to shame :) It was still really fun and a good way for us to get active! Well, me at least.
Burgers and Beer - Since we were already out around 7th Street in Fort Worth, we finally got to try Rodeo Goat. I've heard great things about this place, and since we already loved Twisted Root, we thought this would be just as good. We agreed the burgers were just as good, but not necessarily better... BUT GUYS THEY HAVE QUESO. I'm talking like supped-up queso - with ground beef, guacamole and pico all in one. This by far was my favorite part of the entire meal. We would go back just for that alone. Anyways, the beer part explains itself. Heath started with a Boulevard Wheat and I ended with a cider (the closest to beer this wino will ever get).
Brazilian Steakhouse (Boi Na Braza) - We were so proud of ourselves for getting so many B's in just one meal here. I wish I could tell you that it was delicious and amazing, but sadly it was not. We would've much rather paid the same price we paid to eat here at a nicer restaurant that we knew we would've enjoyed. But we've always been wanting to try this place since we drive by it nearly every day, so it worked out for us to know we won't ever go back! Nothing about service really (I mean who could complain about men running around anxious to serve you endless food?), but some of the beef was too salty for my liking. To no surprise, my favorite part was the salad buffet which also had a huge bowl of bacon. Like strips of bacon y'all. I got a plate of just bacon at one point.
Brunch & Benedict - After spending more than enough bucks at Gap Factory after church (are my B's getting obnoxious yet? And side note - Gap can't email me saying there's an extra 70% off clearance items and expect us not to go), we went to brunch at Brick House and I got their version of an eggs benedict. It was amazing. Heath and I love brunch! Originally we were going to go to Blue Mesa for brunch (bottomless mimosas, hello!), but the thought of another buffet was sickening after how much we ate the night before.
BABE - All in all, these silly letters don't mean a thing but it's a fun way for us to keep our traditions throughout the year. Heath and I don't refer to each other with pet names because ew, but we jokingly use the word babe and bae. Well, for one, bae is just absolutely ridiculous and Heath does that to purposely annoy me. So for the sake of this weekend, I had such a good time with the hottest BABE!
Final count: 15 (bolded words throughout the blog). We're already thinking of ideas for our C anniversary and hoping that we get to take a trip next year. Thanks for following along with our traditions!
Until next time,
