"D" Anniversary Recap

Continuing our "alphabet" anniversary tradition (you can read about that here), we celebrated year #4 in Mexico! I'll have to be honest and say we did not make our annual 'D' lists of things to do, eat and go because we were just TOO EXCITED to go back to Mexico to celebrate. We haven't been back since we got married there so needless to say it was a well anticipated trip!

With this being a beach trip, there wasn't much need for extra activities. Oh, the difficulty of deciding of whether we wanted to wake up to go to the beach or to go to the pool? How about... we do both :) Here's pictures of our week of visiting downtown, drinking daiquiris, dining and dancing!

Our first day on the private beach.
On the way to the resort.
Lunch while waiting for our room to get ready.
Our home for the next few days - amazing view.
Hammock on the balcony.
Design made out of rice :)
The resort was on a cliff so we had a great view of everything!
Heath was very proud of his chorizo breakfast tacos.
First day on the beach!
If you look closely on the top left of this picture, you can see the spot we laid out the day before!
Private homes in the background. This was a private beach the resort shared with those homeowners. There were often times that Heath and I were the ONLY ones on the beach.
Views from outside our balcony.
Empty - the best beach!
Headed to dinner at The Office in downtown
I've got a good lookin' husband!
Day #2 and another off the shoulder top.
I'm not sure how people make it with the high waist short trend because I couldn't breathe when sitting down (let alone if I were to EAT in them!) so you'll find I made a last minute outfit change before heading out the door.
The Marina
We walked around their mall this day and then went to lunch at a local place near the shops.
SO HOT.
No AC and lots of fans, but the best tacos. I found this place on Yelp.
There was a condiment tray and lots of salsa jars on the table. Heath said he could've eaten here every day if it were closer to our resort. We only spent $20 TOTAL for 6 tacos, 2 waters and 2 drinks.
Cooling down from our walk with some ice cream.
Back at the pool for the day. Tough lives.
We grilled this night for dinner and ate outside.
DANCING!
We met this couple on the beach our very first day. They were celebrating 30 years of marriage! We quickly became friends and spent this evening talking about our lives, our faith and our marriage. One of my favorite nights of the trip.
Still have our $20! Read original post here.
Back at the beach.
I finished book #2 on this day while Heath was boogie boarding all afternoon.
Shrimp tacos, homemade salsa and guac + watermelon back at our place.
Clearly towards the end of the trip because we GOT SOME SUN! Wednesday was our official anniversary so we booked a fancy dinner.
Headed to Sunset Mona Lisa. If you are in Cabo, GO. You're paying for the views more than the food. It's worth it.
We did not pay the extra $20/pp for the "exclusive" seating. I read online that you get the best views no matter where you're sitting. This picture proves it!
It was very windy this day so it didn't make for a hair down day!
3 suited men sang the same set of songs every hour. They were great, but after the first few sets, I just wanted them to be done :)
Views from our table.
Final day! A very red Heath with 2 fruit daiquiris.
The last day and we know better, so we are in the shade and NOT directly laying out in the sun LOL
Don't worry - there is a small gap between the infinity pool and the cliffs so I could've caught myself LOL
Had to have lunch on our last day at the same place we had lunch on our first day! Well, that, and because there were no other options at the resort :)
Ceviche Sampler
Headed home to Chief!

Total Anniversary 'D' Count: 4

Although we didn't quite get many 'D's this year, we had the best (and most relaxing) time together... just the two of us. We are often busy (whether together or not) with work, school, more work, volunteering, church, more work, etc. that we sometimes forget to spend time together. This trip was a great reminder for me to relax (or in Heath's words, CHILL OUT) and find joy in being with my husband. We complement each other so well and I can't be more thankful that God chose Heath for me. Here's to many more!
